Somewhere And Nowhere
In a fractured future where reality and cyberspace blur, society is torn apart by war on two fronts. Divisive factions have emerged online, luring the disillusioned with promises of purpose amidst the chaos of Western discontent. These groups wage ruthless battles—not just for dominance in cyberspace but for control over the minds of the masses.
Corrupt algorithms reign supreme, weaving biased narratives into endless feeds, turning the internet into a weapon of mass manipulation. As this digital battlefield spirals out of control, a crucial question looms: Can humanity reclaim agency in a world where information itself has become the ultimate tool of oppression?
Well written and plot driven story about a new world order that is dominated by algorithms that have spun out of human control. The book details a highly realistic future in which the online universe permeates humanity and its warring factions. Yet, the story is also a tale of how nature takes over and how human relations persist. This is a highly recommended read that will leave you wanting for more. When does the sequel come out?
Going Places, Somewhere and Nowhere, is an interesting story, very fast-paced. I’d recommend the book.
The story jumps around quite a bit, with a plethora of short sentences, which serve to speed things up. All in all, the feeling is one of desperation most of the way through. Everyone is ‘fighting’ for survival. This is understandable given the circumstances. And the scariest thought of all: this apocalyptic tale has a good chance of materializing. Borders today are ready to fall one by one, perhaps not soon, but in the future, near or otherwise.
I suggest that the author work more on characterization to move the plot along. It was difficult distinguishing one from another.
What an adventure! This book takes you on an incredible journey composed by a series of highly intriguing “short stories” that transcend time and place. Each story shares new insights and deeply reflective thinking of our lives, the world we live in, and how this world can evolve. This is a ten out of ten!
Enter into a post-apocalyptic war-torn world in which national borders have given way to “factions” based upon online communities of the likeminded. Join a mother and her teenage daughters as they navigate the globe, taking in the devastated and dangerous human landscape. In the world of factions and factioneers, nothing is more important than self-reliance and pure nerve. The women find nourishment in little more than their love for each other and their faith in the alliances they have formed. Never knowing if they’ll survive to see another sunrise, each day demands that they dig deep so that another step toward the future can be taken. And although they have no idea what this future will look like, hope continues to draw them forward despite the nearly impossible circumstances.
….The story’s ending is both poignant and surprising, packed with emotional depth and unexpected twists. I was captivated from start to finish, unable to put the book down. The author has skillfully crafted complex, relatable characters, especially the bond between the mother and her daughters. This was my first encounter with Luise Noring’s writing, and I’m excited to explore more of her work in the future.
This book takes you on a roller-coaster of a journey. Amidst the Third World War, a mother and her two daughters navigate a new world of persistent and sporadic fighting. The pace, energy and suspense of this book makes it a real page-turner. I highly recommend it for anyone intrigued and puzzled about the world we live in.
This fascinating book can be read at so many different levels. Firstly, it is a highly personal story of the relationship between mother and her teenage daughters, their lives and flight. This story is action filled and thrilling. It involves a global travel with vivid imageries and deep cultural insights. Secondly, the story is about the clash between nature and technology. Nature survives and flourishes in the absence of humanity. Technology is represented by humans and our overpowering need to accumulate power and wealth.

Dystopic and mind boggling
I love discovering fresh and compelling narratives, and Luise Noring’s “Going Places, Somewhere and Nowhere” is no exception. Set in a world devastated by a war between Europe and North America, the story explores how entire cities have been erased, giving rise to new, post-apocalyptic urban centers. In this society, the idea of traditional nation-states is obsolete.
Noring’s book is a gripping, fast-paced read that doesn’t give you a moment to breathe. The author’s clear, engaging writing style makes it easy to get lost in this dystopian world, leaving reality behind. Every chapter kept me hooked, and the fluid narrative made for a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
This was an exciting and fast read. However, it left me in deep thought. Going Places, Somewhere and Nowhere paints a daunting future that seems totally credible in this day and age. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in action adventure combined with a poignant observation of where we are all heading.
It is about social media gone rampant! This book shares the dark flipside of the lives we live today, where much of our focus, time and energy is directed towards social media. The book is an eerie reminder of where we are heading and what the future might look like. In some ways, it is a window to a world not so far away and where, despite everything, love and resilience persist.
